
RISE UP PROJECT Special Order: Hazelnut Fig Fougasse
For pick-up on Saturday 6/7
FOUGASSE is a rustic Mediterranean flatbread usually shaped and cut to look like a leaf and filled with goodies. “The best fougasse I have eaten since Florence” said someone who had once been to Florence last time we baked this, so that’s a feather in the cap! Anyway this week we are baking more and filling them with toasted hazelnuts and dried figs. The dough is 30% fresh milled whole grain flour enriched with a glug of olive oil. It’ll be like you never left Florence.
These will be #bakedforsocialjustice as part of our ongoing Rise Up Project. We’re making 24 of them and proceeds from all advance orders will be donated to support the essential healthcare of the #equality. (We promise we are getting close to our $1000 fundraising goal!) All leftover will be brought down to Table and sold on a first-come basis on Saturday morning.
