We’re switching over to fall colors and flavors with our special this week. First we make a puree of local carrots after deeply roasting them to the point of caramelization. Along with a few handfuls of toasted walnuts, the carrots are folded into a dough made with both sifted and whole grain fresh flour. The finished bread will be dense, soft, and terracotta-colored. Perfect for smearing with butter and dragging through a bowl of soup.
This bread is baked for social justice as part of our ongoing Rise Up Project. 70% of the proceeds will be donated directly to Overcomers Refugee Services.
